IDAM MUSCAT EID – ONAM CELEBRATIONS 2011

ഇടം മസ്കറ്റ് സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 16 വെള്ളിഴായ്ച്ച റൂവി അല്‍മാസാ ഹാളില്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച ഈദ് ഓണം ആഘോഷ പരിപാടി വമ്പിച്ച ജന പങ്കാളിത്തം കൊണ്ട് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി. സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളും മുതിര്‍ന്നവരുമടക്കം സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ വ്യത്യസ്ത തുറകളിലുള്ള അറുന്നൂറോളം പേരണ്‌ ഈ ആഘോഷത്തില്‍ സജീവ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യമായത്. രാവില പാത്ത് മണിയോടു കൂടി തുടങ്ങിയ ആഘോഷ പരിപാടികളില്‍ ഇടത്തിന്റെ കലാകാരന്മാര്‍ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച വ്യ്ത്യസ്ത കലാ പരിപാടികളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പാട്ടും നൃത്തവും കളികളുമെല്ലാമായി തികച്ച്യും ഉത്സാവന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലായിരുന്നു അല്‍മാസാ ഹാള്‍. ഇടം മെംബര്‍മാര്‍ തന്നെ പാചകം ചെയ്ത വിഭവ സമൃദ്ധമായ ഓണ സദ്യയായിരുന്നു ഈദ് ഓണാഘോഷത്തിന്റെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രത്യേകത. പരിപാടിയുടെ ഭാഗമായുണ്ടായിരുന്ന റാഫല്‍ ഡ്റോയിലെ വിജയികള്‍ക്കുള്ള സമ്മനദാനത്തോടു കൂടി രാവിലെ തുടങ്ങിയ ആഘോഷ പരിപാടികള്‍ക്ക് പരിസമാപ്തിയായി.



Idam Muscat, conducted their Eid-Onam celebrations at Al Masa Hall, Ruwi on Friday, September 16. The celebration was a tremendous success and had a turnout of around 600 people. The major attraction of the event was the Onasadya, the traditional feast of Kerala served on Onam.

In actuality, the celebrations began the day before, Thursday, September 15th, with the preparations for the feast. Every dish served was prepared by the members of Idam Muscat, themselves. Starting from that, to the end of the celebrations at evening, the next day, all members of Idam Muscat actively participated owing to the success of the event.


“The turnout for the event shows the effort the members of our organization have put in, to bring out an event like this,” said Abdul Gafoor, General Secretary of Idam Muscat. “Starting from the planning and organizing of this event, we could feel the dedication and hard work each and every member of Idam Muscat had in them. The active participation of the members, ladies as well as men, at the time of cooking to this moment, makes it feel like a festival. And we all are definitely in a festive mood.”

Adding fervor to the celebration was the cultural programmes staged by the members of Idam Muscat. With the feast served on one side, the dances, songs and games, served on the other side gave the audience a total festival fiesta, and kept them spell bound.

“Our celebrations were given more color with participation from various social organizations in Muscat and officials from the Embassy of India and France,” said Shaji Kalandiyil, Cultural Secretary of Idam Muscat. “We extend our sincere gratitude to all who came to our event and made it a huge success.”
